NODA B’YEHUDA MAHADURA KAMMA PRAGUE 1776. HISTORIC DISCOVERY! OVER FORTY UNPUBLISHED GLOSSES! In 1776, the Noda B’Yehuda self-published his classic Halachic responsa which was received to almost unprecedented acclaim and was learned in great depth by the Talmidei Chachomim of that time. This particular copy belonged to R. Menachem Mendel Deutsch and his son R. Dovid Deutsch, (a prize talmid of The Noda B’Yehuda) who wrote over forty learned glosses! In the second volume of Noda B’Yehuda (Mahadura Tinyana published posthumously in 1811) there are numerous responsa written as a response to R. Dovid Deitch, addressing questions which R. Dovid Deutsch raised on Mahadura Kamma. In this copy a number of the handwritten glosses discuss these questions, in addition to many other important glosses. On the flyleaf there is a signed inscription by R. Dovid Deutsch stating that the sefer belongs to his father R. Menachem Mendel Deutsch. R. Menachem Mendel Deutsch (1724-1785) was a son of R. Mordechai Deutsch, Rav of Freistadt (author of Sefer Mor Dror-Prague 1738). A prodigious Talmid Chochom, he served as Rav in numerous important communities including Nitra, Kitze and Teitchap. He was held in great esteem and corresponded with various Gedolim of his era including Rebbe R. Shmelke and The Noda B’Yehuda (See Noda B’Yehuda Tinyana #140). Father of R. Dovid Deutsch of Novo-Mesto (Ohel Dovid).  R. Dovid Deutsch (1757-1831), was a prize talmid of the Noda B’Yehuda. He served as Rav in various communities including Serdeheli and Novomesto (Ir-Chadash). In Serdeheli, he led a great Yeshiva together with his son-in-law R. Meir Eisenstadt (MaHaRa”M Ash). Enormously revered, he is mentioned numerous times in the responsa of the Noda B’Yehuda and the Chasam Sofer. Author of Ohel Dovid. The sefer belonged to various other members of his family, including R. Avrohom Freistadt Rav of Kamaron and R. Yitzchok Feigenbaum Rav of Warsaw. Hitherto unknown, these glosses present a glorious addition to the world of Torah scholarship in general, and to the Torah of The Noda B’Yehuda, R. Menachem Mendel Deutsch and R.
