LOT OF TWO HANDWRITTEN CALENDARS 5704 & 5705. 1943/44 & 1944/45. - LOT OF TWO HANDWRITTEN CALENDARS 5704 & 5705. 1943/44 & 1944/45.  In addition to their systematic murder of The Jewish People the Nazis also ruthlessly sought to eradicate all traces of religious life and practice. A challenging dilemma facing Jews under Nazi persecution was keeping track of the Jewish calendar. These miniature handwritten calendars not only show the dates of Shabbos and Yom Tov which are integral to Jewish observance but even include details such as the correct Haftorah and the Molad etc. On both of the handwritten title pages appears the name Chaim Feder.  These provide a glimpse of the tenacity and determination of the Jewish people to religious observance even in the most trying of times.  5704: 14 pages 10.3 cm by 7.5 cm. 5705:  13 pages. 10.5 cm by 8.5 cm.
