In the introduction, the publisher mentions that he showed the manuscript to R. Yisroel of Ruzhin who chose the name Eretz HaChaim for this sefer. R. Chaim of Chernovitz (1740-1817), was a talmid of The Mezritcher Maggid and The Zlotchover Maggid. He served as Rav in Chernowitz and Botochan before immigrating to Eretz Yisroel in 1813 where he settled in Tzfas. His seforim are classics of Chassidic thought particularly Be’er Mayim Chaim.
