With important Chassidic approbations extoling the author’s greatness. R. Uziel Meizlish (1744-1786), was born into a Rabbinical family. At a young age he met the Ba’al Shem Tov and became an early proponent of the Chasidic movement. He was a close Talmid of the Mezritcher Maggid. Additionally, he was acquainted with R. Levi Yitzchok of Berditchev (Kedushas Levi), R. Nachman of Kosov, R. Meir of Premishlan and R. Shmelke of Nikolsburg.
