Yisroel Hopstein (1737-1815), was born to aged parents following a blessing they received from the Baal Shem Tov. He was known as an Illui, and initially learned under R. Shmelke of Nikolsburg, who later sent him to learn under the Mezritcher Maggid. Following the passing of the Maggid in 1772, he became a Chassid of R. Elimelech of Lizhensk and was one of his most prominent talmidim. In 1765, he was appointed Maggid in Kozhnitz. He was leader of thousands of Chassidim, becoming one of the primary Chassidic leaders in Poland. Bound with part 2 (Warsaw 1876) with its own title page, with novella on Seder Nashim.
