Menachem Mendel Hager of Kosov, the founder of the Vizhnitz dynasty. R. Menachem Mendel Hager (1768-1825), was a son of R. Yaakov Koppel Chassid who was among the close Chassidim of the Ba'al Shem Tov and served as his Ba’al Tefillah. He was a close talmid of R. Tzvi Hirsch Nadvorna, R. Moshe Leib Sassover and R.
