Zichron Yosef. With rare polemic introduction against Chassidim. Furth 1773. The R. Moshe Neuschloss Copy! - Zichron Yosef. With rare polemic introduction against Chassidim. Furth 1773. The R. Moshe Neuschloss Copy! Classic Sefer of halachic responsa by R. Yosef Steinhart Av Beis Din of Furth. In his introduction, the author writes sharp words of criticism against the various factions that were established in the era prior to the printing of his work. These groups include the followers of Shabtai Tzvi, Maskilim and Frankists. Following that, the author pens a lengthy criticism of Chasidim. It should be noted that whilst he speaks respectfully of Chasidic Rebbes who are proficient in Shas and Poskim, he strongly criticizes unlearned Chasidim, who attempt to imitate the path of their Rebbes without any understanding. This introduction is considered by bibliographers to be the earliest condemnation of Chasidim in a Halachic Sefer. As a result, in some copies of this Sefer the introduction is missing. With the stamps of R. Moshe Neuschloss (1912-1997), Rav of Skver and father in law of The present Rachmistrivka Rebbe. (Stefansky Hebrew Classics page 84). Vinograd Furth 453. Buchbinder press.
