Although Jews settled in Chicago as early as 1830, it was not until 1877 that the first Hebrew book was printed. This book is extremely rare and is not recorded by Deinhard (Koheleth America) or Vinograd. It is however mentioned by Goldman, see Hebrew Printing in America #689. Ettelsohn press. 43 pages. 13 cm.
