Primarily a philosophical, theological, ethical and to some extent historical commentary. His method is structured in an original form, prefacing each section with a number of questions and then interpreting that section in such a manner as to gradually resolve them. R. Yitzchok Abarbanel (1437-1508), was one of the most influential rabbinical figures of his time. He lived in Spain, where in addition to his Rabbinic duties he was close to the Monarch, serving as The Royal Treasurer. He utilized his position to assist the Jewish community and unsuccessfully invested immense effort and resources to rescind the edict of The Spanish Expulsion.
