R. Shimon Shkop. Grodno 1939. - Warm letter of gratitude sent by R. Shimon Shkop thanking for a donation to the Yeshiva. Typewritten on stationary with one handwritten line before his signature and stamp. Written in the summer of 1939, shortly before the outbreak of the War. R. Shimon Yehuda Ha’Cohen Shkop (1860-1940), learned in the great Yeshivos of Mir and Volozhin. In 1884, he was appointed as a Maggid Shiur in Telz where he remained until 1903, when he succeeded his father as Rav of Moltash. In 1920, he became Rosh Yeshiva in Grodno where his shiurim attracted hundreds of students. Under his leadership, Yeshivas Grodno became world famous as a bastion of Torah, and his seforim Sharei Yosher and Chidushei R. Shimon are studied in great depth in Yeshivos worldwide. 22 by 28 cm.
