Moshe Shmuel Shapiro אוסף של שלושה מכתבים מאת ר’ משה שמואל שפירא - • Signed letter dated 1959 to the Va’ad Ha’Poel of Poalai Agudas Yisroel requesting permission to hold an appeal in the PAI shul in Petach Tikva of behalf the Yeshivas Be’er Yaakov whose building was destroyed in a fire. • Signed letter dated 1965 to Housing Ministry requesting a loan to refurbish one of the buildings of Yeshivas Be’er Yaakov. The refurbished apartment was to serve as living quarters for the Rosh yeshiva who was hoping to relocate from Bnei Brak to Be’er Yaakov. • Handwritten letter dated 1981 to the administration of the Ezras Torah in New York requesting financial aid for a needy student of the Yeshiva about to get married. R. Moshe Shmuel Shapiro (1917-2006) was born in Minsk to R. Aryeh, son of R. Rafael Shapiro of Volozhin. He studied under R. Elchanan Wasserman in Baranovitch and in the Mir. Following his immigration to Eretz Yisroel he co-founded Yeshivas Be’er Yaakov and was one of the Yeshiva world’s most eminent Roshei Yeshiva. In that capacity he educated generations of distinguished disciples and was renowned for his penetrating shiurim and seforim. All in excellent condition. Opening bid $250
