Aaron Kotler/Rabbi Yechezkel Sarna 1959 ר’ אהרן קוטלר/ר’ יחזקאל סרנא תשי”ט (1959) - Autograph letter on an aerogramme written to R. Yechezkel Sarna and his Rebbetzin and R. Chaim Sarna and his Rebbetzin. Wishing a warm Mazel Tov on the birth of a daughter/granddaughter. The letter continues with various important matters concerning institutions in Erets Yisroel, including recommendations to positions and R. Aaron’s opinion that a certain individual should step down from his post. R. Aaron Kotler (1892-1963) was renowned from a young age for his brilliant mind coupled with his great diligence. He served as Rosh Yeshiva in Slutzk and Kletsk and following the Holocaust established Beth Medrash Govoha in Lakewood, N.J., which today is one of the largest and most prestigious Yeshivos. Known as the pre-eminent Rosh Yeshiva and Torah leader of his generation he was pivotal in the reestablishment of Yeshivos after the Holocaust. Although R. Aaron resided in America he was actively involved in Torah education in Erets Yisroel particularly in Eitz Chaim where he served as Rosh Yeshiva and the Chinuch Atzmai. His opinion on the conduct of Yeshivos was frequently sought by Roshei Yeshiva in Erets Yisroel who held him in awe. With footnote by Rebbetzin Chana Perel Kotler wishing Mazel Tov. 30 by 18.5 cm.
