Yehuda Grunewald. Satmar 1913 ר’ יהודה גרונוולד. סטמאר תרע”ג (1913) - Autograph letter of recommendation written of behalf on a distinguished talmid who had previously served as a Shochet and had now fallen upon hard times. R. Yehuda Grunewald (1845-1920) was a talmid of the Ksav sofer, R. Aaron Dovid Deitsch, R. Dovid Fischer and R. Dovid Schick. Renowned as a great Talmid Chochom he served as Rav in various important communities including Bonyhad and Satmar. In Satmar he also led a great Yeshiva which was one of the most prestigious in Hungary. Author of various seforim including Zichron Yehuda and Shevet M’Yehuda. 22 by 15 cm. Good condition.
