Mordechai Gifter/Holocaust. ר’ מרדכי גיפטר/שואה - Lengthy autograph letter written on rabbinical letterhead dated 1978. Just one year earlier R. Gifter had established a branch of the Telshe yeshiva in Telz-Stone, leaving R. Boruch Sorotzkin to lead the yeshiva in Cleveland. However, in 1978 R. Sorotzkin fell ill which forced R. Gifter to return to Cleveland to lead the Yeshiva. R. Gifter describes coming back to Cleveland and his satisfaction to find the students studying diligently as well as detailing the extra studies added as a merit for R. Boruch’s recovery. With mention of the upcoming “21 Tammuz” communal Yartzeit of the Kedoshei Telz and of how the sadistic murderers taunted the Telzer Rav, brutally hitting him on his head with a hammer whilst jeering “now where is your G-D Jew?” to which the Telzer Rav replied “He is my G-D and also Your G-D… and there will come a time when all will recognize Him”. Concluding with Divrei Torah on the Sugya being studied in Yeshiva. Two full sides. 15.5 by 23 cm. Excellent condition. Opening bid $150
