Moshe Feinstein (1895-1986) was born in Uzda, Belarus where his father served as Rav. Known as An outstanding Talmid Chochom from a very young age, he was appointed to his first rabbinical post at age 21 and as Rav of Luban a few years later. Following increased religious persecution in Soviet Russia, he immigrated to the United States. He served as Rosh Yeshiva in Mesivta Tiferes Yerusholayim where he taught hundreds of distinguished pupils. He had a leading role in the establishment of the orthodox Jewish community in the U.S. and greatly impacted Jewry the world over. He is regarded as the greatest Posek of his era.
