After the war, there were no standard printed Teno’im’s available, hence each one had to be handwritten. As few knew the correct wording, some of the Rabbonim wrote the standard text of the Teno’im with the names left blank. These were copied by hand and filled in with the names and date when the need arose. Lot includes one blank Teno’im and one actual Teno’im, signed by the bride and groom. Although the typical Teno’im has the parents of the couple undertaking the responsibility of providing for the wedding, in the DP camps this was undertaken by friends, as almost all the survivors were orphans. 29 by 22 cm, 23 by 14 cm.
