ELYA RABBA. FIRST EDITION. FURTH 1768. THE COPY OF THE GAON’S KLOIZ. - Novella on various Masechtos by R. Eliyahu Shapiro, author of the famed Elya Rabbah on the Shulchan Aruch. With approbations from the Noda B’Yehuda and the Korban Nessanel. With numerous handwritten inscriptions “that this sefer belongs to the Bais HaMedrash of Gaon of Vilna”. In 1768 the Gaon’s relative R. Eliyahu Peseles bought a house and established a permanent minyan for the Gaon and his talmidim. After the petirah of the Gaon in 1797, it was decided to convert the minyan into a Kloiz. The Gaon’s Kloiz was one of the most prominent and venerated minyanim in Vilna. Among many other outstanding personalities, R. Avraham Danzig (Chayei Adam), and Mechutan of the Gaon, used to daven in this Kloiz. Vinograd Furth 338. Buchbinder press. [2] 106 pages. 32 cm.
