Menachem Mendel Stern of Sighet (1759-1834), was a talmid of R. Meshulam Igra and a son-in-law of R. Binyomin of Manestretz. He served together with R. Yaakov Lorberbaum (Chavas Da’as) on the Beis Din in Manestretz, and then at the behest of the Chavas Da’as on the Beis Din in Kalisch. He later became a close Chassid of both R. Menachem Mendel Hager of Kosov and the Sassover Rebbe. He served as Rav in Sighet following the passing of R. Yehuda Heller (Kuntrus Ha’Sfeikos).
