In this rare pamphlet, Sarah Schenirer describes at length the perils facing Jewish girls in Poland and traces the history of the Bais Yaakov movement from its humble beginnings through its unprecedented growth. Sarah Schenirer (1883-1935), was a pioneer of Jewish education for girls and initiated a system of organized Jewish education for girls “Bais Yaakov”. Founded in 1917 with a few students, by the eve of the Holocaust there were approximately 250 schools established and over 40,000 students in Bais Yaakov schools.
