The basic format of the sefer is somewhat similar to the Sefer HaMitzvos of the RaMBaM. However, unlike the RaMBaM, the SMaG presents long discussions of different interpretations and opinions. He also quotes Rashi and Tosfos extensively, generally favoring the Ashkenazic tradition over the RaMBaM. With the additions of R. Yitzchok Stein printed here for the first time. With signature of R.
