Seemingly unpublished autograph letter of responsa on the topic of Ner Chanukah by R. Zalman Spitzer, son-in-law of the Chasam Sofer, to R. Meir Tzvi Jung.
R. Binyomin Shlomo Zalman Segal Spitzer (1826-1894), was a student of both the MaHaRa”M Schick and the K’sav Sofer. He was the son-in-law of the Chasam Sofer. Following his marriage, he lived in Pressburg and in 1852, he became Rav and an Av Beis Din in Vienna. Known as tremendous Talmid Chochom he is mentioned in the Chidushim of the Chasam Sofer and in the Teshuvos of the K’sav Sofer. Father-in-law of R. Yosef Ber Cohen (Rosh Beis Din in Vienna) and R. Shimon Sofer of Erlau (Hisorerus Teshuva).
