The third section includes halachic responsa. With approbations by R. Yitzchok Elchonon Spektor, R. Alexander Moshe Lapidos and others. R. Shalom Rabinowitz (died circa 1872), was a son of R. Moshe Yehoshua, who was a Ra’M in the Volozhin Yeshiva. R. Moshe Yehoshua was a son-in-law of R. Zelmeleh of Volozhin (brother of R. Chaim). He learned under his great-uncle R. Chaim of Volozhin.
