The Copy of the Chortkover Rebbe. - Shlomo Yehuda Friedlander (1860-1924), is infamous for his forged Yerushalmi on Kodshim. A year before its publication he published a commentary on Yerushalmi Tractate Yevamos. It received particularly warm approbations from R. Chaim Soloveitchik of Brisk, The Aderes, The Sdei Chemed and others. This earned Friedlander an aura of respectability and trust as a Talmid Chochom and as expert in Yerushalmi which later compounded the confusion surrounding the Yerushalmi on Kodshim. With stamps of R. Shlomo Friedman of Chortkov (1894-1959), son and successor of R. Nochum Mordechai Friedman of Chortkov and grandson of R. Yisroel of Chortkov. Wieder press.
