Yaakov Emden, two of which are first editions. Responsa Sheilas Yave”tz, both parts and Igeres Bikores on Even HaEzer. Printed during the author’s lifetime! R. Yaakov Emden (1697–1776) commonly known as the Yave”tz was a preeminent Rov in Germany who championed Orthodox Judaism in the face of the influence of the Sabbatean movement. Acclaimed for his extensive knowledge and a prolific author, his seforim are extremely highly regarded. Thirty one of his works were published during his lifetime and ten posthumously, whilst others remain in manuscript. A son of the Chacham Tzvi, he lived most of his life in Altona where he earned a living by printing seforim. R. Moshe Kalfon (1874-1950), served as Chief Rabbi of Djerba. An outstanding Talmid Chochom, he was one of the leading rabbinical figures in Tunisia. He was also a prolific author who wrote over fifty seforim on a wide variety of topics, most notably his halachic responsa Sho’el V’Nishal. Stefansky Hebrew Classics page 84.
