Yellin speaks of his great anguish caused by the haste of the dissolving of this union and how perhaps had he been consulted earlier it could possibly have been avoided. He continues that although now it is too late to repair the damage he feels it necessary to pour out his distress caused by this episode. R. Aryeh Leib Yellin (1820-1886) was one of the most outstanding disciples of the Volozhiner Yeshiva learning primarily under R. Yitzchok of Volozhin and as a study partner of R. Naftoli Tzvi Yehuda Berlin (Netziv). He served as Rav in Yashinovka and later in Bilsk. He was held in enormous esteem as one of the most prominent rabbinical leaders of his era, and received Halachic queries from far and wide. His magnum opus Yefai Einayim was received with great acclaim and from its first printing in the Vilna Shas has been included in almost every edition of Shas. Author of Pnei Aryeh on the Yerushalmi, Kol Aryeh and Mitzpeh Aryeh. 13.5 by 20.5 cm. Good condition, some stains. Extremely scarce. Opening bid $6000
