Schmelkes R. Yitzchok - Schmelkes R. Yitzchok. Signed letter by the renowned R. Yitzchok Schmelkes of Lemberg. (Bais Yitzchok). Written in German, with R. Yitzchok Schmelkes undertaking that he will recite Kaddish for the late R. Yosef Shaul Natonsohn and Rebbetzin Natonsohn, whom unfortunately passed away childless. R. Yitzchok Schmelkes (1828-1905) was in born in Lemberg and studied under R. Mordechai Zev Etinger, R. Nosson Stern and particularly R. Yosef Shaul Natonsohn (Sho’el U’Maishiv) whom he ultimately succeeded as Rav of Lemberg. He served as Rav in various communities, most notably Lemberg. Author of the multi volume classic Halachic responsa Bais Yitzchok, which received great acclaim. The signature reads “Issac Schmelkes Rabbiner “. With Rabbinical stamp.
