Kotler, R. Aaron - Kotler, R. Aaron. Autograph letter dated 1960 written on an aerogramme to R. Nissan Tuktchinsky of Yeshivas Eitz Chaim. Concerning financial arrangements of Yeshivas Eitz Chaim as well as a request for detailed activities of the Yeshiva. Following the passing of his father in law, R. Isser Zalman Meltzer in 1954, R. Aaron agreed to succeed him as Rosh Yeshiva in Eitz Chaim. In addition to being involved in the running of the Yeshiva, he delivered shiurim there on a regular basis whenever he was visiting Eretz Yisroel. R. Aaron Kotler (1892-1963) was renowned from a young age for his brilliant mind coupled with his great diligence. He served as Rosh Yeshiva in Slutzk, Kletsk and following the Holocaust reestablished his Yeshiva in Lakewood. Known as the pre-eminent Rosh Yeshiva and Torah leader of his generation he was pivotal in the reestablishment of Yeshivos following the Holocaust. Excellent condition. Opening bid $800
