Herzog R. Yitzchak Issac, Ashkenazy Chief Rabbi - Herzog R. Yitzchak Issac, Ashkenazy Chief Rabbi. Lot of two letters to the Rishon L’Zion, R. Benzion Uziel. Yaldei Tehran. Historic letter detailing a violent disagreement between the Chief Rabbinate and the Jewish Agency. Autograph letter dated March 1943. Extremely sharply worded against the scandalous behavior of the representatives of the Jewish Agency, who were deliberately desecrating Shabbos in front of the orthodox children saved from the Holocaust. Strongly urging R. Uziel to join him in issuing a vigorous public protest, and to call to task the Zionist leadership for their appalling conduct. Two pages. Excellent condition, filing holes (torn until edge) 21.7 by 27.5 cm. Autograph letter regarding their joint commitment to publish an official protest against settlements in Eretz Yisroel that were raising rabbits. R. Herzog writes that in order to achieve results, a protest alone will not suffice. Rather it requires a very strong, unequivocal stance especially when dealing with people whom consider kashrus issues of little importance. Two sides. Excellent condition. 20.5 by 28 cm.
