Public protest. Rav Kook/Yemenite Shechita - Public protest. Rav Kook/Yemenite Shechita. Handwritten document of resolutions passed at a meeting in 1930 regarding R. Kook’s ban on Ashkenazim using Schoctim and Menakrim from the Yemenite community. Apparently R. Kook had come to believe that they were insufficiently trained and whilst they were accepted by their own community, he publicly forbade Ashkenazim to rely on them. The Yemenites responded by criticizing his lack of evidence on the matter and threatening no further contact with the central Ashkenazic Rabbinate until R. Kook’s withdrawal. Seemingly intended for release as a public poster. On two papers, 12.5 by 33.5 cm. Excellent condition. Opening bid $200
