Lashon Zahav - Anglo Judaica. אנגלו יודאיקה Lashon Zahav. First edition Offenbach 1822. Two parts consisting of novella on the Talmud, weekly Torah portions, together with sermons authored by R. Dovid Tevele Schiff of London. Includes a sermon given at the service to pray for the King’s full recovery. R. Dovid Tevele Schiff (died 1791) was a student of R. Yaakov Yehoshua Falk (Pnei Yehoshua) and R. Yaakov Poprush. After serving as a Dayan in Frankfurt he was appointed as Chief Rabbi of England in 1765 where he served with distinction until his passing. He was a contemporary of the famed R. Nosson Adler of Frankfurt with whom he maintained a regular correspondence. Vinograd Offenbach 195. 3, 32, 1, 44 pages. 33 cm. Good condition, some foxing and staining.
