Tiferes Ha’Tzvi/ Kerem Shlomo - Tiferes Ha’Tzvi/ Kerem Shlomo. First edition Zolkiew 1803. Tiferes Ha’Tzvi novella on tractate Beitzah, Kerem Shlomo novella on Yore Deah authored by R. Uziel Meizlish. R. Uziel Meizlish (1744-1786) was born into a rabbinical family. At a young age he met the Ba’al Shem Tov and became an early proponent of the Chasidic movement. He was also a student of the Mezritcher Maggid. Additionally he was acquainted with R. Levi Yitzchok of Berdicthev (Kedushas Levi), R. Nachman of Kosov, R. Meir of Premishlan and R. Schmelke of Nikolsburg. He served as Rav in various communities including Ostrovsa, Ritshaval and Neustadt. One of the early promoters of the Chasidic movement in “Congress “Poland. Known as a phenomenal Talmid Chochom he had many disciples, whom he taught both the hidden and revealed Torah. Amongst his students was his younger brother R. Yitzchok who prepared these novella for publication, and added notes entitled Zer Zahav. Stefansky 634. Vinograd Zolkiew 605. G.
