Moshe of Pinsk – who included additional material of his own. In the introduction, R. Moshe relates that R. Eliezer Segal Landau reviewed the original manuscript with his talmidim, who found that some of the variant readings of the Gaon concurred with the opinions of the Rishonim. With approbations of three Rabbonim of Lemberg: R. Tzvi Hirsch Rosanes; R. Yitzchak Ashkenazi (Taharas HaKodesh) and R. Meshulam Ha’Cohen. It also comes with a stern warning issued by the Beis Din of Vilna that published Chidushim of the Gaon should not be accepted as authentic, unless they are published with a validation of the Vilna Beis Din.
