Eitz HaDa'as Tov Tiferes Uziel. First Edition. Warsaw 1863. Copy of R. Yisroel Moshe of Gustinin - With an unrecorded list of subscribers including many prominent Rebbes. Eitz HaDa’as Tov- commentary on Masechtos Kesubos and Tiferes Uziel- Kabbalistic and Chassidic commentary to the weekly Torah portion, by R. Uziel Meizlish. With important Chassidic approbations extoling the author’s greatness. R. Uziel Meizlish (1744-1786), was born into a rabbinical family. At a young age he met the Ba’al Shem Tov and became an early proponent of the Chasidic movement. He was a close Talmid of the Mezritcher Maggid. Additionally, he was acquainted with R. Levi Yitzchok of Berditchev (Kedushas Levi), R. Nachman of Kosov, R. Meir of Premishlan and R. Shmelke of Nikolsburg. He served as Rav in various communities including Ostrovsa, Ritshaval and Neustadt. One of the early promoters of the Chasidic movement in “Congress” Poland. R. Yisroel Moshe Lipchitz of Gustinin-Proshkov (died 1918), was the son and successor of R. Yechiel Meir Lipchitz known as the Gutte Yid of Gustinin. The Gustininer Rebbes were renowned throughout Poland as great Tzadikim. As Talmidim of the Kotzker, they were particularly known for their fiery Avoda. At the end of the Tiferes Uziel is an unrecorded list of pre-subscribers to the Sefer including the Chidushei Ha’Rim, R. Tzadok Ha’Cohen, the Tiferes Shlomo, and the Divrei Chaim.
