Mei HaShiloach. Rare polemic concerning a Divorce. First Edition. Ofen 1853 - Interesting responsa regarding a complex Get by Rabbi Dr. Meir Zipser. Rabbi Dr. Meir Zipser (1815-1869), studied at the great Yeshivos of Eisenstadt and Mikulov, in addition to pursuing secular education. In 1844 he was appointed as Rav of Stuhlweissenburg, where, however, he became involved in a controversy with Orthodox members of the community on account of a divorce which he had granted without a precedent. In his defense he wrote this sefer Mei HaShiloach, to which R. Yedidyah Gottleib Fischer published a sharp rejoinder titled Dlosayim U’Briach (Vienna 1855). Due to the resulting contention, Rabbi Dr. Meir Zipser was forced to resign. He relocated to Rechnitz, where he served as Rabbi for more than a decade until his death in 1869. Vinograd Ofen 85.
