Brachia Schick. - Compendium of letters from great rabbinical leaders condemning “innovations” being made by the Reform leaders to synagogue practices. Published by the Hamburg Rabbinate, following the opening of the Hamburg Reform Temple in 1818. Includes letters from R. Meshulam Zalman Ha’Cohen of Furth, R. Akiva Eiger, the Chasam Sofer, R. Mordechai Banet, R. Eliezer Fleckles, R. Hertz Sheir and many others. Printed at the height of the epic struggle against the Reform movement, this sefer provides a glimpse of some of points of dispute between the Orthodox and the Reform and the valiant efforts of these Rabbonim to curb the influence of the Reform movement.
