This work is considered by many bibliographers to be the first extensive halachic sefer published in America. With an approbation written by R. Yitzchok Elchonon Spektor a few weeks before he passed away. R. Tzvi Hirsch Grodzensky (1858-1948), was among the most illustrious students of the Volozhin Yeshiva and the Kovno Kollel.
