Classics. Machneh Ephraim. First Edition. Constantinople 1738 With signature of R. Shlomo Ardit. - Classic work of novella on the RaMBaM by R. Ephraim Navon. R. Ephraim Navon (1677-1735), was born in Constantinople and was renowned from a young age as a tremendous Talmid Chochom. In 1700 he immigrated to Yerusholayim, where he isolated himself for over ten years, learning in Yeshivas Neve Sholom. He later was appointed as a SHaDaR and travelled to Constantinople. There he was prevailed upon to settle as a Dayan by R. Yehuda Rosanes (Mishna L’Melech). While in Constantinople, he wrote his sefer Machneh Ephraim. Before his passing, he asked his son R.
