Considered by bibliographers to be the first extensive halachic work printed on American shores. R. Tzvi Hirsh Grodzensky (1858- 1948) was among the most illustrious students of Volozhin and Kovno Kollel. In 1891 he immigrated to America, and served as the Rav of Omaha for over 50 years.
