Amsterdam Hagadah 1781. With Map. Fine copy. - Haggadah Shel Pesach Ma’alah Beis Chorin. Includes the Map. Amsterdam 1781. Fine copy. Amsterdam Hagadah, with the commentaries of the Alshich, Gevuras HaShem of the MaHaRAL and Olelos Ephraim by the Kli Yokor. With the copperplate illustrations of the famed Amsterdam 1695 Haggadah. The artist, Avraham Ben Yaakov (a convert to Judaism), illustrated the Hagadah with copper engravings. This printing technique achieved a much more refined and detailed look, and it quickly became a model for many other Hagadahs, and to a large extent it continues to influence illustrations of Hagadahs up until today. Of particular interest is that the map printed on a foldout page at the end of the book. The map shows the route of the Exodus from Egypt, through the desert, to the ultimate settlement in the Promised Land. Vinograd Amsterdam 2113. Yaari 199. Yudlov 300. Proops press.
