Shira L'Chaim. First edition. Warsaw 1814. - Fascinating sefer based upon a concept taught by the Gaon that the 613 Mitzvos of the Torah are alluded to in the 613 words of the Shira in Ha’azinu. The author R. Chaim Perlmutter, writes that he toiled to identify these hints. Written in vowelized prose, with additional commentaries titled “Yochin U’Boaz”. R. Chaim Perlmutter (d. 1820), served as Rav of Mariampol in Lithuania for 40 years, after which he served as Rav of Shershevo, hence he was known as R. Chaim of Shershevo. With a poem at the end of the sefer celebrating the defeat of Napoleon, in which the author hints at his rescue from the Napoleonic wars. With the approbation of R.
