CLASSICS. Mishnah Berurah. Parts 1 and 2. First Editions! With a (partial) list of subscribers. Warsaw 1884-1895 - Mishnah Berurah volumes 1 and 2 by the Chofetz Chaim. Yisrael Meir Ha’Cohen Kagan (1838-1933), was the leader of his generation and published many seforim based on what he felt needed emphasizing at the time, such as the laws of forbidden speech, practical Halacha, family purity, tznius and daily Torah study. The Mishna Berurah was received to almost unprecedented acclaim, and there is hardly a “Torah home” without a set of Mishnah Berurah. He also placed importance on the learning of Seder Kodshim to prepare for the arrival of Moshiach and therefore authored and published Likutei Halachos on Kodshim. As is well known, the Chofetz Chaim was personally involved in the printing and distributing of his seforim, often travelling considerable distances for that purpose. Stefansky Hebrew Classics 193.
