In two sections, the first on the Midrash on the Chumash and the second on the Midrash of the 5 Megilos. R. Menashe Ben Yisroel (1604 –1657), was descended from Portuguese Jews who fled to Holland to escape the Inquisition. Renowned as a great Kabbalist, author, diplomat, printer and publisher, he founded a Hebrew press in Amsterdam where he published numerous important seforim.
