Shani is a painter and architect by training, he brought the precision craft from the world of architecture with him to painting, in which he has been engaged for over a decade.

The details in his landscape paintings are incredibly accurate, creating a unique and accurate realistic work.

Shani wanders the length and breadth of the country, in settlements that are in the consensus as well as in those that are not, and brings with him to the studio photographs he took. After that, he paints what he caught with his lens and brings to the viewer pieces of the land, parts of the landscape, buildings, fields and settlements of the Land of Israel. His paintings are absent from a person and the landscapes speak for themselves. Shani does not use modern and commercial signs in his works and thus gives them a timeless, rooted and non-judgmental quality.

Shani's works invite the viewer to set an internal clock when looking at them, as if seeking to sharpen the viewer's attention to the landscape. Some of his paintings are created as individual paintings and some as series, although even in series each painting stands on its own merits. His works speak to the memories of each and every one and create a familiar and pleasant place.

Shani's works are focused and full of interest. The artist paints with acrylic colors and on the back of each piece he signs his name and the place painted. His paintings are sold at auctions as well as in galleries abroad.
