Bad Kodesh – First Edition – Warsaw, 1871 – Letter from the Baal HaTanya to Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berditchev and Letter from the Mitteler Rebbe to the Ruler of Belarus Bad Kodesh, two letters and Chassidic homily on Megillat Ruth, by the rebbes of Chabad. [Warsaw, 1871]. First edition. Bad Kodesh comprises three texts: a letter from the Mitteler Rebbe to the ruler of Belarus, written after his imprisonment in Vitebsk in 1826; a letter from the Baal HaTanya to R. Levi Yitzchak of Berditchev, written after his release from prison in St. Petersburg; and a homily on Megillat Ruth (the homily was presumably authored by Rebbe Aaron HaLevi Segal Horowitz of Staroselye). Several manuscripts of this composition exist, the earliest of which dates to 1835. 14 pp. 18 cm. Good condition. New half leather binding.
