Important ”Yachsani” Letter from the Sar HaTorah, the Gaon of Tchebin. Jerusalem, 1954 Beautiful and important letter of approbation from the renowned gaon, the prince of Torah, Rabbi Dov Berish Weidenfeld, ga'ava”d of Tchebin, author of Dovev Meisharim. For the sefer Divrei Sofrim - insights from famous rabbis of the Sofer family of Paks. Jerusalem, 1954. In his letter, the gaon of Tchebin mentions the geonim of the dynasty ”[your] father, the great gaon Rabbi Shmuel Binyamin, son of the famous gaon, pillar of the world, Rabbi Zussman Sofer” from the Paks Sofer family of scribes, the most prominent rabbinic family in Hungary after the Chata”m Sofer's family [both were named Sofer but there was no family connection]. The gaon of Tchebin was known as a salvation-worker in the merit of his Torah. He blesses with his golden tongue in the margins of the ”Yachsani” letter: ”And the merit of the Torah and its scholars - your ancestors the geonim and authors, will protect ... so that you will be blessed from the source of blessings with all goodness, as per the prayers and blessings of Dov Berish Weidenfeld.” Refer to the Hebrew catalog text for a brief biography of the gaon Dov Berish Weidenfeld.
