The America the Beautiful Quarters® Program features coins with designs emblematic of national parks and other national sites Honors Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Apostle Islands National Lakeshore, Voyageurs National Park, Cumberland Island National Seashore, and Block Island National Wildlife Refuge Minted at the United States Mints at Philadelphia and DenverThe 2018 America the Beautiful Quarters Uncirculated Coin Set™ contains 10 uncirculated America the Beautiful Quarters–five minted at the Philadelphia Mint and five at the Denver Mint. The set contains coins honoring five of our Nation’s national parks and sites. The United States Mint issues these quarters in the order in which the honored sites were first established as national sites.Each coin in the series features a common obverse (heads) with the 1932 portrait of George Washington by John Flanagan, restored to bring out subtle details and the beauty of the original model. Each year, five new national site designs are depicted on the reverse (tails) of the quarters. The 2018 coins honor the sites below with the following designs:Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore: This design depicts Chapel Rock and the white pine tree that grows atop. Inscriptions are “PICTURED ROCKS, ” “MICHIGAN, ” “2018,” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”Apostle Islands National Lakeshore: This design depicts the sea caves at Devils Island with a lighthouse in the background and a kayaker paddling in the foreground. Inscriptions are “APOSTLE ISLANDS, ” “WISCONSIN, ” “2018,” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”Voyageurs National Park: This design depicts a common loon with a rock cliff in the background. Inscriptions are “VOYAGEURS, ” “MINNESOTA, ” “2018,” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”Cumberland Island National Seashore: This design depicts a snowy egret posing on a branch on the edge of a salt marsh, ready for flight.
