1935D $1 Blue Seal Silver Certificate Grades vf++. While Series 1935D $1 Silver Certificates were being issued, the back design was made about 3 mm narrower. All 1935D notes are either the wide or narrow variety. This Series 1935D $1 Silver Certificate bears Clark-Snyder signatures and features the "wide design" style. Once redeemable for silver coin or bullion, small-size Silver Certificates, with their distinctive blue Treasury seals and serial numbers, are among the most sought-after U.S. currency notes.. Silver Certificates were redeemable in Silver. One of their most distinctive qualities is the blue Treasury seal and serial numbers. These notes include an additional legend printed on the face that is not present on any other Federal Reserve notes. The legend states that Silver had been deposited in the Treasury and was payable on demand to the note’s bearer.
