Colonial Currency Connecticut Jun 19, 1776 Fr-CT206 9 pence Printed By T. Green Slash Cancelled Grades Choice AU. The June 19, 1776 issue comprised $50,000 in six year non-interest bearing Treasury Notes. Newman estimates that only 15,000 of the 9d denomination were intended for circulation. George Wyllys, the signer on this example was born on Oct. 6, 1710 in Hartford. He was the great grandson of two Connecticut Colony governors and served as Secretary of the State of Connecticut from 1735-96.
