*Highlight* 1924-d Saint-Gaudens $20 Graded ms65 - ***Auction Highlight*** 1924-d Saint-Gaudens $20 Gold Double Eagle Graded ms65 By SEGS. HIGHLIGHT OF THE NIGHT - As with most other branch mint issues from the 1920s, the 1924-D was struck to a healthy extent with more than 3 million coins, but nearly all of them were melted. In fact, the 1924-D was once so difficult to find it was considered one of the greatest rarities in the entire Saint-Gaudens series. Repatriations from overseas holdings have since improved the availability of this this Denver twenty dollar gold issue, but it remains scarce in near-Gem condition and ultra rare in Gem and highly sought-after among series specialists. This well-detailed example enjoys rich orange-gold color and satiny mint luster. One mark in the left obverse field limits the grade. I have included another ms65 example, please note the large gouge on the knee. This is much more distracting, and the example realized over $50,000. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation
