LURIA, YITZCHAK  (AR”I HaKadosh).  Sepher HaKavanoth [mystical meditations, prayers and customs]. Second edition. ff. 65, (5). Browned, stained in places, title repaired, upper corners of several leaves neatly extended to size. Modern blind-tooled crimson morocco. 4to. Vinograd, Hanau 40; Mehlman 1082 (incomplete) and cf. 1081. Venice, 1620 (i.e. Frankfurt a/Main, 1624). Sefer HaKavanos L’Ha’Ar’i (first ed. 1620) is the very first book published based upon the revolutionary mystical legacy of the Ari-Zal. This rare edition,   a pseudo-Venetian imprint, is attributed to Hanau, although it is self-evident by the approbations and the colophon itself, that the book was printed in Frankfurt a/Main. See Kiryat Sefer Vol. 26, p. 320 and Vol. 27, pp. 283-4. See also M.J. Heller, The Seventeenth Century Hebrew Book, pp. 434-5.
